Therapeutic actions:
Solcoseryl is a tissue metabolism activator, chemically and biologically standardized and deproteinised, non antigenic and apyrogenic hemodialized extract form the blood of healthy young calf. Solcoseryl contains a large amount of natural low molecular substances - glycolipides, nucleosides, nucleotides, amino acids, oligopeptides, irreplaceable micro elements, electrolytes. Solcoseryl increases reparative and regenerative processes, contributes to activation of metabolic processes and oxidative phosphorylation reactions. Solcoseryl increases oxygen intake, especially in cases of hypoxia. Possesses membrane-stabilizing and cell-protecting properties.
Indications: Solcoseryl vials(2ml and 5 ml) are used to treat:
* Occlusive peripheral vascular diseases in Fontaine stage 2 or 3
* Chronic venous insufficiency manifested in trophic disorders.
Contraindications and cautions:
Solcoseryl should not be used in known hypersensitivity or allergy to protein-free extract of calf blood
Solcoseryl should be used with caution during pregnancy. Solcoseryl should not be used in children and adolescents under 18 years of age(for vials)
You must apply Solcoseryl only after the wound is cleaned with antiseptics. In treatment of contaminated wounds you must use antibiotics and antiseptics on the wound prior applying Solcoseryl (for 2-3 days).
Treatment of weeping and deep wound should begin with Solcoseryl gel application. As soon as the process of epithelialization will cover damaged skin area and wound will stop weeping,you should begin applying Solcoseryl ointment.
Adverse effects:
There are possible side-effects associated with this medicine that can affect individuals in different ways. If a side effect is stated here, that does not necessarily mean the fact that all people using Solcoseryl will experience it or any other.
The most common side effects include: burning, local edema, change in taste and teeth color, allergic reactions.

* Solution for injections(Solcoseryl vials) should not be mixed with other medications, excepting isotonic solution sodium chloride 0.9% and 5% solution of glucose.
* Solution for injections(Solcoseryl vials) is not incompatible with parenteral pharmaceutical forms of Ginkgo biloba, naftidrofuryl and bencyclane fumarate.
